Disclosure Policy

In running a website/blog like this, there are two ways to compensate the owner/writer of the site (me!):

1. To charge a monthly fee to the user (like a subscription).

2. To use advertising (like TV or radio).

The second option allows you, the reader, to access information for free. Since I know that you are on this site to save you and your family money, I have chosen the second model, which means you will be exposed to advertising on this site. Some of it is obvious (like ads on the sidebar) and some will be less obvious (like affiliate links embedded in the post text). This disclosure policy is my attempt at being transparent in how I use advertising for the purpose of compensation.

I love blogging. And I love that I am able to make money at it. But making money is not my primary purpose. Providing a valuable resource for my readers is my priority. I post deals that I believe my readers will enjoy and benefit from. Sometimes these deals make me money and sometimes they do not.

When I come across a sweet deal, I do try to find a way for the manufacturer, company or promoter to compensate me. Here are the ways I sometimes make money:

Affiliate Links — There are occasions when I am compensated when you click on a link, submit your email address, sign-up for an offer, print a coupon or buy a product or service. There are occasions when I am not compensated.

Campaigns and Sponsored Content — I sometimes partner with brands to promote a product or service that I believe is valuable, benefits my readers and is appropriate for women and families in the Pacific Northwest. I am compensated for my time by these brands and/or public relations companies monetarily or with free product.

These relationships are always disclosed in the post and I will always give my honest opinions, findings or experiences.

Referral Credits — There are occasions when I am able to receive site referral credits when readers sign-up or purchase a product or service.

Advertising Images — Look to your right. I am paid directly for putting some of those ads on the blog.

The revenue made from this site covers the expenses associated from creating and maintaining it and compensates me and my family for the time I put into it. You should assume that the links in posts are some type of affiliate or referral links. It may not be, but better to assume so. You are always welcome to get your deal through another link. I’m just cool like that.

The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely mine. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
